2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain
2015 was an extraordinary vintage that fully expresses Cabernet Sauvignon from this famed, high elevation site. The wine is packed with complex aromas of ripe blackberries, cocoa, and some delicate minerality, uncovering layers of plum, ripe black berry, cassis, and crushed rock. Complex on the palate, ripe concentrated fruit leads the way, evolving into mocha, cedar, leather, and spice, with hints of French oak. Bold and extracted, elegant, and refined.

2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain
On the first swirl, the 2016 vintage will start to release the chocolate, spice, nutmeg, cedar, and all of the expressive blue and black fruit aromas. Another swirl will liberate the complex layers of black licorice and cassis. The first sip is round, soft, and amazingly approachable at this young age, it’s hard to believe this is 100% mountain fruit. The luscious texture explodes with bright ripe summer fruit, dark chocolate with just a hint of sweet vanilla. Supple tannins on the finish are youthful yet integrated, demonstrating that this wine is in it for the long haul.
